Creating a Communication Channel
Alerts are delivered via communication channels. IO River supports the following communication channel types:
- Slack
To create a communication channel:
- Navigate to the Account page.
- In the sidebar, select Alerts.
- Click on the Add Channel button.
- Fill in the new channel form:
- Name - Name of the channel.
- Type - Type of the channel.
- Fill the required information according to the selected channel type:
- Slack
- Provide the Webhook URL as described below.
- Email
- Provide a list of emails.
- Alternatively, you can use the Send alerts to all Admins checkbox to notify all admins (new admins will be automatically notified).
- Slack
- Click on Save.
Once created, the new channel will show up in the list of communication channels.
Integrating with Slack
To create a Slack integration, follow the steps described here to create a Slack app with an incoming webhook. Once created, you should have the Webhook URL to be used when creating a communication channel.
Creating an Alert
To create an alert:
- Navigate to the Account page.
- In the sidebar, select Alerts.
- Click on the Add Alert button.
- Fill out the new alert form:
- Name - Name of the alert.
- Type - Select the type of alert.
- Provide the information required according to the alert type.
- Communication - Select the communication channels to be used with the new alert.
- Click on Save.
Once created, the new alert will show up in the list of alerts.
